So, Meek Mill & Nicki Minaj Were A Little Upset With Joe Budden Last Night…

Joe Budden x Nicki Minaj x Meek Mill beef_LifeIsTremendez

If you frequent this site, then you’re well aware of I’ll Name This Podcast Later, the podcast I’ve been doing weekly with Joe Budden for MONTHS now. Every single week, we discuss current events, we make jokes on each other and other people, we share opinions…we have a show. That’s how shows work. It’s not a podcast about Joe being a rapper, because maybe then opinions wouldn’t be warranted. But it’s 3 friends – one of which happens to have a larger following because of his OTHER work – who come together on a weekly basis for a light-hearted podcast of nonsense.

That being said, it honestly surprised me when Joe‘s comments about Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj‘s relationship on last week’s episode (number 20) made headlines. While we discussed the happenings at the 2015 BET Awards, Joe made a joke about how he was saving pictures he saw of Meek looking at Nicki the entire show. He then said the following:

(Photos + Video) Summer Jam 2015 Recap: Performances, Gossip + More!

LifeIsTremendez_Hot 97 Summer Jam 2015 recap

Yesterday marked the 23rd annual Summer Jam concert from Hot 97, and another epic night for the record books! I was frazzled for a majority of the show because I signed up to work, and was assigned to handle all things Fetty Wap and Ty Dolla $ign…which sounded fun in theory, but DAMN it was a lot of work! Needless to say, I missed about 90% of things that happened – and that includes all that drama outside. My mother actually was texting me in a panic making sure I was okay, and I had to ask her what she was talking about because we were calmly sitting around sharing “deez nuts” jokes backstage at the time. LOL! It’s a shame a few bad apples attempted to spoil the whole bunch, but they ultimately didn’t – as the show went on inside without incident, and for the tens of thousands that did get in, it was an amazing time!

SO much went on behind-the-scenes and on the stage, so I’ll start from the beginning at the Festival Stage.

Rest In Peace, Chinx

Chinx and his family

Earlier today, I was sickened to wake up to the news that Far Rockaway, Queens-based rapper Chinx (formerly known as Chinx Drugz) had been murdered in New York in the late hours of the night.

After leaving a party he’d hosted in Brooklyn, Chinx and his friend were driving through Queens in his silver Porsche Panamera around 4am, when a car pulled up beside them. An assailant let off a round of shots, 5 of which connected with the Coke Boys rapper. Both were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where Chinx was pronounced DOA. He was 31. His passenger is in critical condition with two bullet wounds to the back, but is expected to survive. He has since updated his Instagram from the hospital. (Photo in the gallery.) 3 men have been arrested in Far Rockaway in connection with the murder, but no further details are available.

(Photos) That NJ Ish: Mike Zombie’s First Annual Celebrity Basketball Game

zbb2

This past weekend was Willingboro, New Jersey‘s first annual celebrity basketball game, brought to us by our very own Mike Zombie! Since unveiling himself to the industry in 2013 by producing Drake‘s super-successful “Started From the Bottom” single, Zombie has put his town on the radar for many of music’s elite underground and mainstream leaders, and continued his momentum by hosting a charity event for the town’s community sports teams.

Taking place at Willingboro‘s John F. Kennedy Recreational Center, the Panthers basketball teams were split into the Blue team and the White team, consisting of some of the most prominent local celebrities that dominate both the music and sports industries. Just a few of those names include legendary battle rapper Tsu Surf, Big OOH!, Gillie Da Kid, NY Jets safety Calvin Pryor, Porta Rich, Empire‘s Black Rambo, Kazzie, Chill Moody and plenty more. Over 200 people packed the newly renovated JFK gymnasium, making for an excellent turn-out.

I’m not even going to pretend like I know how to describe a basketball game, so I’ll say that no one expected the Blue Team (Zombie‘s team) to come out with such a victory of 57-41. The most entertaining players to watch were Gillie Da Kid, who landed 3-pointers back to back accompanied by a smug smile and an energetic and warm attitude, and Calvin Pryor of the white team, who had a good start in the first quarter, weaned by the second, and came back to finish strong by the last quarter.
